Dom Gordon

Dom Gordon, a trailblazing first-generation American woman and proud African American member of the LGBTQ community, was born to immigrant parents from Trinidad and Tobago in inner-city New York. Their upbringing in a diverse environment instilled in them a profound resilience and empathy, fueling their ambition to impact the world positively.

Graduating from the Air Force Academy in 2019 with a B.S. in Behavioral Science and a minor in French, Dom was a key leader in Spectrum, the LGBTQ club, during a challenging period marked by the passage of the anti-trans bill. This role underscored the importance of community and advocacy, shaping their future endeavors.

As an Air Force Academy admissions liaison and an acquisition officer, Dom excelled, translating obstacles into opportunities for growth and service. Their passion extended to the rugby field, where they not only competed on a four-time national Division 1 championship team but also played for the inaugural Air Force women's rugby team in 2017 as well as a top-ranked Division 2 adult women's rugby team. These experiences honed their teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Dom's journey took a pivotal turn upon acceptance into medical school on an Air Force Scholarship, a step closer to realizing their dream of helping others. With a background enriched by diverse experiences and challenges, Dom is dedicated to leveraging their unique perspective to enhance patient care in the medical field.
